“Either you run the day, or the day runs you.” -Jim Rohn
Cha is, without a doubt, one of the hardest working women I know; exemplified in her driven attitude towards her career and athleticism. Because she’s as self-sufficient and independent as they come, I truly had the privilege of being her roommate this past summer and observing her ambitiousness firsthand.
Earlier this year, she found out that she was one of the raffle winners to run the TCS NYC Marathon and immediately began devising her strategy to conquer it.
Let it be know that as someone who takes utmost pride in their work, she is not one to cut corners. Period. Not that I can tell you I really understand what it is she does – sorry ma 🙂 – what I can tell you is that she goes the extra mile every time.
It’s been a long summer for all of us, but especially for her. From 3AM wake up calls to fit in weekly runs (and make it to work on time), to full work days, to 3-hour long Saturday runs, it’s crazy to think how the last four months of her training are now a blur.

I can’t tell you what a true honor it was to see her face & give her a goodie/food bag post-finish line. As a volunteer, we were strictly instructed to not have any phones out – particularly in the food distribution center where things are pretty hectic (they were not kidding about the hectic part…). But please, let’s be honest: I had to track her all afternoon so I could keep an eye out for her as I was grabbing bags and handing them out to runners as fast as I could.
There were so many people to look in between, but the idea of missing her completely killed me.
Cue the massive hug, the tears, the pure happiness from one little Asian to her ma.

There are no words to tell you how proud we – aka the girls – are of you, Cha! We obviously knew you could do it, but it doesn’t make crossing the finish line any less #swelly on our end. And now that this leg of the year is over…BRING ON THE JACK HONEY DIETS!! AND DONUTS! AND ZA!

For someone like Cha, success is inevitable, regardless the goal. For everyone else, you’d better catch up. #CHAseHer.
