Sitting at JFK on a very delayed flight to Florida, relishing the giant coffee, mimosa, and handsome fella sitting across the table from me. It’s been a long morning, but I haven’t stopped smiling.
It feels like I was just turning 26 yesterday. In fact, I can tell you nearly every detail of this past year. I started this series of Fives 365 days ago, when a dear friend and I found ourselves stuck in a rut. (She has always been a positive influence on me.) As someone who tends to focus on the negative / the issues, this project helped me keep perspective on all the good that we overlook day in and day out. It’s almost too perfect that this Final Five lands on 27.
My sincerest thank you to everyone who followed along, or read this even just once. I am humbled for your time.
- A Saturday created just for me: a giant breakfast omlette with rye, a surprise steak dinner, and tickets to a show I’ve been anxious to see for years. You really know how to make a girl feel like the only one in the room.
- Final score: 34-28.
- Finding a long lost sistah friend on this side of the States after nearly a decade and a half – the same time her dad was reaching out to reconnect with mine.
- A duo work anniversary/ birthday celebration after literally the longest three work weeks.
- Opening a necklace, imprinted with the cross-streets and location of the loveshack: our first home together.
To continuing to celebrate love – throughout the day, the months, the years to come. Happy Friday, everyone!
